The homeowners wanted more than just a replacement. They wanted a complete outdoor transformation that connected the entire backyard and created a space built for entertaining, relaxing, and enjoying the property year-round. Here at Coastal Hardscapes, we removed the deteriorating patio and designed a completely new hardscape layout that blended functionality, drainage solutions, and upscale outdoor living features into one cohesive design. The new project included a custom hardscape patio directly off the home with a matching garden wall for structure and visual appeal. We installed a connecting walkway from the front of the property to tie the outdoor spaces together, along with an additional walkway leading to the backyard shed area.
In the rear portion of the yard, we created a second patio space complete with a custom fire pit, a step-down seating area, and another garden wall that helped define the space and improve elevation changes throughout the yard. Because runoff had been a major issue on the property, we also installed a trench drain system to properly redirect water and protect the new patio areas from future erosion and standing water. Now, the property feels completely transformed. Instead of dealing with cracked concrete, muddy runoff, and disconnected outdoor areas, the homeowners have a functional and visually striking outdoor living space that flows naturally from front to back.
